SOUR CREAM COOKIES
1/2 cup shortening
1 1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 cup sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla
2 3/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
Icing:
1 1/2 cup powdered sugar
2 tsp. shortening
1/2 tsp. each orange, lemon & vanilla extract
enough milk to make thick icing
Cream shortening, sugar and eggs together, add sour cream and vanilla. Stir in sifted dry ingredients. Cover with plastic wrap and chill overnight in refrigerator. Drop by tablespoon on greased cookie sheet and bake 12-15 minutes at 350°F oven or when cookies are light brown & spring back when touched. Keep dough in refrigerator while baking. Cool on rack immediately.
When cool, use butter knife to ice the cookies. Store in plastic bins in a cool place.
Makes a soft cookie and they are very good.

SOUR CREAM COOKIES
COOKIES:
1 c. shortening
2 c. brown sugar, packed
2 eggs
1 c. heavy sour cream
2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
4 c. flour
1/2 c. nuts (optional)
ICING:
1/2 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar, packed
1/4 c. canned milk
1 3/4 to 2 c. powdered sugar
COOKIES:
Sift flour, salt, soda, cinnamon and nutmeg all together. Cream shortening, add brown sugar and cream together. Add eggs, sour cream and put nuts in the mix or on top. Add flour. Chill in refrigerator for 1 hour. Drop by teaspoon on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes.
ICING:
Melt 1/2 cup butter, add 1 cup brown sugar packed. Boil over low heat for 2 minutes stirring constantly. Stir in 1/4 cup canned milk. Stir until it comes to a boil. Cool to lukewarm. Gradually add 1 3/4 to 2 cups powdered sugar. Beat until spreading consistency. If icing becomes stiff add a little hot water. This icing is good for cakes too.

GRANDMOTHER' S SOUR MILK OATMEAL
COOKIES
2 c. oatmeal
2 c. brown sugar
1 c. melted shortening
1 egg
1/2 c. sour milk
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. salt
Raisins
2 to 2 1/2 c. flour
Mix sugar and shortening. Add eggs, oatmeal, spices and raisins. Put in refrigerator overnight. Take out and add 2 to 2 1/2 cups flour, only enough to keep dough from being too sticky. Using a teaspoon, place mounds of dough on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
SOUR MILK COOKIES
1 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
2 eggs
1 c. sour milk
1 tsp. vanilla
Mix all together, drop by teaspoonfuls on cookie sheet - far apart because they spread. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes.
SOUR MILK COOKIES
2 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
1 c. sour milk
4 1/2 c. flour
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
Juice of 1 lemon
Mix sugar, shortening, milk, eggs, baking powder, salt, soda and lemon juice. Add flour a little at a time. Drop by tablespoons on cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees until done. These are a nice, soft, large cookie. Optional: May add nuts, chocolate chips, raisins or coconut. Makes 5 dozen.
SOUR MILK COOKIES
2/3 c. shortening
1 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. lemon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. fresh buttermilk
2 eggs
4 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. baking powder
Mix all ingredients, add nuts, chocolate chips or raisins. Drop on baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until done.
SOUR MILK CHOCOLATE COOKIES
3/4 c. Crisco
1 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1 c. sour milk
1 tsp. baking soda
2 c. flour
2 sq. melted Bakers chocolate
1 tsp. vanilla
Combine Crisco and brown sugar, then add remaining ingredients in order. Bake at 350 degrees until middle springs back to touch. Cool and frost with your favorite chocolate butter frosting.
MARY ANN'S SOUR MILK COOKIES
1 c. butter
1/2 c. sour cream
1 1/4 c. sugar
3/4 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking powder
Flour to stiffen
Flavor with 1 tsp. lemon juice, 1/2 tsp. nutmeg or cinnamon
Cream butter and sugar. Add sour cream and dry ingredients. Add flavoring if desired. This dough may be made stiff enough to roll out and cut with cookie cutter or it may be made less stiff and dropped from spoon onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes.

Orang buat resepi, aku pun cuba. Orang ada blog aku pun nak sama. Lepas tu orang pandai memasak aku pandai makan aje.
Anyway blog ini aku titipkan istimewa untuk bondaku Rokiah Che Mahmood yang banyak mengajar aku dunia kehidupan wanita. Terima kasih ma atas ilmu masakan yang ma bagi. Walaupun aku tidak seteror ma dalam bab masakan tapi setakat goreng telur mata kerbau taulah sikit-sikit waaupun kerap kali pecah...
